Bay Leaves aka Laurus nobilis. The bay leaf is an aromatic leaf commonly used in cooking. It can be used as fresh leaves, dried or ground. Bay Leaves (also known as Laurel Leaves) were used across the ancient world. In Greece and Rome Bay Leaves were used to make crowns of Laurel for athletes and poets. Bay leaves are often used in Bouquet Garni (a bundle of herbs tied together and removed before serving). Bay leaves are wonderful in soups, rice, beans, pasta sauce, baked with potatoes or cooked with fish. Always remove before serving.
